Werner carries improved status into 2006

Werner Enterprises Inc, the Omaha NE-based truckload transportation company, reported improved operating revenues and earnings for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec 31, 2005.

Operating revenues increased 16% to $526.3 million in fourth quarter 2005 compared with $455.2 million in fourth quarter 2004. Net income rose 12% to $28.8 million in fourth quarter 2005 versus $25.8 million in fourth quarter 2004.

For the year, operating revenues of $1.972 billion in 2005 were 18% higher than $1.678 billion in 2004. Net income climbed 13% to $98.5 million compared with $87.3 million in 2004.
