Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15W-40 features patented Trimer technology that helps users stay ahead of the upcoming American Petroleum Institute (API) CI-4 requirements for new exhaust gas recirculation-equipped (EGR) engines designed to address the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2002 emissions mandate that takes effect in October 2002. The Mobil Delvac Super 1300 formulation is compatible with current and previous conventional diesel engine technologies requiring API CH-4, CG-4, or CF-4 engine oils.

To achieve CI-4 approval, oils must be evaluated in a number of tests to meet performance standards for new low-emission EGR-equipped engines, putting greater demands on engine oils in three ways: increased heat, higher amounts of acidity, and more soot.
