IFCO unit acquires certain CHEP assets

Reusable Container Co LLC, a subsidiary of IFCO Systems, has completed the purchase of certain assets of the Reusable Plastic Container (RPC) Services Business of CHEP USA. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Transitioning all CHEP USA Reusable Plastic Containers and related Wash Service Center assets to IFCO Systems will allow the CHEP team to continue investing in and adding customer value, by helping take costs out of the pallet and other container supply chains in the United States,” said Dave Mezzanotte, chief operating officer of CHEP.

IFCO is an international logistics service provider with more than 150 locations worldwide. It operates a pool of more than 87 million RPCs, which are used mainly to transport fresh produce from producers to grocery retailers. In the United States. IFCO also provides a national network of pallet management services.

CHEP, a Brambles company, provides pallet and plastic container pooling services and has more than 7,700 employees in 42 nations.
