Ahold selects Agribuys for perishables procurement

Ahold, the Dutch supermarket and foodservice operator with major holdings in the United States, has selected Agribuys of Torrance CA as its supplier of supply chain software and marketplace services for perishables procurement. This agreement covers all six Ahold operating companies in the United States.

The centralized perishable procurement organization will be based in Boston MA. The contract runs for five years with an option for an additional five years. Agribuys will process purchases of produce, meat, poultry, seafood, bakery, deli, and floral products worth more than $13 billion a year.
