TravelCenters of America (TA) is investing more than $30 million to increase the number of truck service bays at existing TA locations and to establish stand-alone repair garages in key locations.

The program will nearly double the number of bays at many locations, raising the total number of bays to 600 nationally by the end of 2006, TA said.

“Our goal is to provide the most convenient, timely, and high-quality maintenance and repair services available to fleet companies and independent owner-operators alike,” said Tim Doane, president and chief executive officer.

The company expects to service more than 1.6 million trucks this year; it now has 400 service bays at 160 locations.
