    Costco Wholesale Corp reported net sales of $3.79 billion for the four weeks ended Oct 31, 2004, an increase of 11% from $3.42 billion in the same four-week period of the prior fiscal year. For the first nine weeks of its 2005 fiscal year ended Oct 31, 2004, the company tallied net sales of $8.32 billion, an 11% gain from $7.49 billion during the similar nine-week period of the year before.

    The company currently operates 444 warehouses, including 329 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 63 in Canada, 15 in the United Kingdom, five in Korea, three in Taiwan, five in Japan, and 24 in Mexico. It plans to open five more new warehouses before the end of 2004.
