A driver with Dot Transportation Inc (DTI), a subsidiary of Dot Foods, was recognized recently for driving four million miles during his career. Dick Kramberg, a Quincy IL resident who operates out of the food redistributor’s Mt Sterling IL distribution center, was honored at the company’s annual National Business Meeting in St Louis MO.

“Dot Foods and Dot Transportation rely on loyal drivers like Dick who spend endless hours on the road to deliver our products efficiently to our customers,” said Paul Mugerditchian, president of DTI. “We have some of the best drivers in the industry, and we’re proud to recognize them for their outstanding accomplishments.”

Kramberg will celebrate another milestone with the company later in 2012: As of June 9, he will have served 36 years with Dot.

“This has been a wonderful company to work with for both my family and myself,” said Kramberg. “They’ve given me the opportunity to have a fulfilling career and travel around the country.”

Several other drivers also were recognized for reaching the three-million-mile mark. These drivers, also operating out of Mt Sterling, are Jim Mashburn and Month Stabler of Mt Sterling; Dale Little and Wayne Thomas of Rushville IL; Zane Keylor and Bob Patton of Timewell IL; and Monet Estes and Randy Dieterle of Camp Point IL.

With the trucking industry reported a shortage of nearly 200,000 drivers at the end of 2011, DTI is aggressively hiring to accommodate its business.

On average, most DTI drivers are home with their families two days a week. Compensation for full-time drivers includes pay on actual miles; delivery pay; pick-up and layover pay; fuel incentives; quarterly and annual bonuses; paid personal days, sick days, vacations, holidays; 401(K) benefits with company match; short and long-term disability; experience pay; and exceptional unload pay.

Founded in 1994, private carrier DTI specializes in delivering mixed loads of frozen, refrigerated, and dry products across the nation. It operates out of terminals in Mt Sterling, Modesto CA, Vidalia GA, Burley ID, Cambridge City IN, Williamsport MD, Liverpool NY, Joliet IL, and Ardmore OK.
