DSI (Distribution & Service Inc.) has reached a three-year distribution agreement with the largest rail passenger system in the United States. It was selected to act as the sole distributor for all of Amtrak's frozen food. DSI's relationship with Amtrak started more than four years ago.

DSI enables its customers to source and deliver food products; and most importantly by working on their food supply chain to dramatically improve their controls over menu rotations, menu compliance, and food losses.

The food and beverage service on trains is critical to Amtrak maintaining and attracting new customers, while keeping a level of economic efficiency.

Created in 2002 by Michael R. Aevermann, DSI is a private company fully committed to delivering global supply chain services. Its food supply services cover every aspect of the food supply chain, from menu design to inventory management, including worldwide sourcing, centralized purchasing, import/export, warehousing, transportation, forecasting, and reporting.
