Burris Logistics, headquartered in Milford, Del., recently purchased Los Angeles-based distributor R.W. Zant Company, which Burris says will expand the foodservice redistribution capability of its Honor Foods subsidiary.
The transaction closed June 21, the company said.
Complimentary product portfolios are expected to expand the redistribution capabilities of Honor Foods, which is based in Philadelphia, Pa., and R.W. Zant, Burris added, including immediately increasing the logistics services provided by Burris’ cold chain assets and freight brokerage via its Trinity Logistics brand.
Current R.W. Zant president Lourdes Navarro, a long-tenured team member, will continue to serve as the company’s president and report to Tullis, Burris said. To underscore the ownership change and promote their newly combined capabilities, “An Honor Foods Company” endorsement will be added to R.W. Zant logo.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Bill Zant and his team through this process,” said Burris Logistics CEO Donnie Burris. “R.W. Zant is an incredible family business with incredible people and a wonderful culture. As a multi-generational family business ourselves, we look forward to protecting the heritage that is in this business while providing additional growth opportunities for all.”
