Velociti deploys technology for Hirschbach
Velociti Inc, a global provider of technology deployment services, announced the completion of a technology rollout for refrigerated carrier Hirschbach Motor Lines.
The project consisted of installing EpicVue, which provides a premium in-cab satellite TV package for the trucking industry; and the FlowBelow Tractor Aero Kit, which consists of aerodynamic wheel covers and tractor tandem fairings that work together as a complete aerodynamic system to reduce drag and save fuel.
These installations were part of a two-prong initiative by Hirschbach to advance its Green Fleet Strategy and expand its fleet through driver retention and increased fuel efficiency and savings.
“Retaining experienced drivers and attracting new, qualified drivers, is extremely important for maintaining the high quality of service Hirschbach strives to provide its customers,” said Brian Weiss, director of driver services. “Our drivers spend most of their time out on the road or at truck stops and rest areas during required downtime. Our hope is to improve the quality of that time by providing them with the EpicVue in-cab satellite TV system.”
Also, as a continuation of its Green Fleet Strategy, in which Hirschbach continuously strives to improve its carbon footprint and fuel efficiency, the company decided to have the FlowBelow Tractor Aero Kit installed. FlowBelow asserts its system will reduce fuel consumption more than 2% at highway speeds.
Hirschbach has already seen a difference in reduced driver turnover as well as an increased interest from new drivers. Combined with the fuel savings, that will allow the firm to expand its fleet and continue improving its Green Fleet Strategy.
