Carrier Transicold recently secured a major order of 1,000 OptimaLine units with EverFresh technology from Great White Fleet, the ocean transportation arm of Chiquita Group. The company, which supplies refrigerated container solutions for perishable cargo, said the investment expands Great White Fleet’s controlled-atmosphere (CA) capabilities and enhances cargo freshness and efficiency. EverFresh active CA technology enables management of oxygen and carbon dioxide levels within refrigerated containers, slowing the ripening process and extending shelf life for bananas and other perishables.
Key features of OptimaLine with EverFresh include lowering annual energy costs by up to 15% compared to competition, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 40% versus previous units, offering setpoints for O₂ (1–17%) and CO₂ (1–19%) levels, and integrated gas sensors for continuous monitoring. The order builds on the long-standing partnership between Carrier Transicold and Great White Fleet and underscores their mutual focus on cargo quality and sustainability.
