Navistar’s LoneStar Class 8 highway tractor named inaugural ATD Commercial Truck of the Year.
Navistar’s LoneStar Class 8 highway tractor has won top honors in the inaugural ATD Commercial Truck of the Year contest created by the American Truck Dealers organization.
Chosen by a judging panel of journalists from several North American trucking magazines, the LoneStar topped four other Class 8 tractor contestants: a Model 386 Peterbilt, T-660 Kenworth, Mack Trucks’ Titan vocational daycab tractor, and Freightliner Cascadia highway tractor.
Judging criteria for the award include innovation, design, fuel economy, driver and owner satisfaction, ease of maintenance, and safety.
Beginning next year, ATD will add a medium-duty segment (Class 3-7) category to its new award program.
