Detention claims and invoice submissions can now be automatically inputted into EBE Technologies’ IDI web portal with the new Lean Logistics interface, the company said. The system will populate data fields in the web site quickly to help eliminate unpaid detention charges.

According to EBE, Lean Logistics mandates claims to be entered prior to detention and the invoice for that detention to be entered no later than five days after the occurrence. The application automates the detention update process by populating the web site with the detention information it receives from the dispatch system.

IDI will also monitor the submission of the detention amount, and if the amount is not provided by the carrier within a specified time, escalations will automatically be triggered to provide visibility to the pending revenue loss. The system also monitors the invoice amounts and reconciles it with the carrier’s accounting system, placing discrepancies in an exception queue for review.

“IDI is an easy-to-implement tool that delivers a rapid return on investment, substantial savings in labor costs, improved accuracy and efficiency and a realistic means of improving cash flow by eliminating revenue leaks associated with unclaimed detentions,” said Larry Kerr, president. “We’re dedicated to helping companies manage costs during both the good and challenging times. With the rising pressures facing all transportation providers today, EBE continually aims to develop practical solutions that provide bottom line savings to our customers.”
