Through a recently signed agreement with Alltel Wireless, @Road will now be able to extend its Mobile Resource Management (MRM) service coverage to customers in rural transportation and distribution hubs.
"We believe that the agreement with Alltel allows us to strengthen the penetration of our MRM services into less populated regions that tend to have higher concentrations of transportation and distribution companies,” said Leo Jolicoeur, @Road chief marketing officer.
Under terms of the agreement, @Road can resell Alltel wireless data services bundled with its own MRM solutions, while Alltel’s sales force can refer its customers to @Road for MRM solutions as part of the Alltel Axcess Fleet Management program.
The agreement also provides wireless network access to @Road subscribers who roam into areas covered by Alltel’s nationwide roaming agreements with other wireless carriers.
@Road's family of MRM products includes solutions for field force management designed to help fleets drive down fuel and other operating costs while increasing mobile worker productivity. These solutions comprise GPS-based monitoring, mapping, reporting, as well as wireless communications, messaging and automated workflow.
Other MRM solutions for field service management consist of intelligent software for appointing, scheduling and dispatching, routing, and demand/capacity planning. For field asset management, @Road offers programs that incorporate vehicle diagnostic/prognostic and sensor technologies aimed at optimizing driver safety, inventory management and vehicle performance and maintenance.
