Connecting to the OBDII network found in all light-duty vehicles as well as some medium-duty trucks, FleetPulse from Netistix offers short-range wireless access to collected tracking and operational data over standard WiFi networks, eliminating air-time charges.
Intended for fleets that don't need real-time monitoring, the system can be installed in under 10 minutes with a single connection to the OBDII port, according to the developer. In addition to historical location information generated by a built-in GPS receiver, FleetPulse also captures diagnostic codes and operational information that can be used to automate maintenance scheduling, enforce anti-idling rules or optimize route planning.
The system's software is based on Microsoft.NET architecture for easy integration with other fleet applications, according to Netistix. It can be implemented as either a web-hosted or enterprise server-hosted application.
