• Nexiq adds universal PLC adapter

The Universal J560 PLC adapter from Nexiq Technologies can extract data from ABS and other power line carrier (PLC) networks and covert it to the SAE J1708 protocol. The converted data can then be used with J1708/J1587 diagnostic tools in a variety of situations that include reading ABS warning lamp messages from a trailer ECU and testing the in-cab ABS warning lamp.

The adapter has a new design that improves connector access and prevents the connector from interfering with some glad hand configurations, according to Nexiq.  It also supports trailer diagnostics without a tractor connection or can be connected between a tractor and trailer.

The Universal J560 PLC adaptor is available from Snap-on and Nexiq distributors, according to the company.
