New product helps carriers improve DataQ challenges

Feb. 11, 2014

Vigillo has released a new product that it said will enable carriers to identify where their DataQ challenges are likely to have the best chance of success.

FMCSA’s DataQs allow carriers to request a review of federal and state inspection, violation, and crash data that the carrier believes may be incomplete or was incorrectly assigned to them. The Vigillo DataQs Success Report helps improve that process.

“Just as we have seen wide enforcement disparity, we also now see a disparate response to DataQs,” said Steve Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “We know that some states, counties and inspectors respond differently to challenges to specific violations or categories of violations. The DataQs Success Report helps a carrier view which violations are most often successfully removed by states, counties and safety inspectors.  Because inconsistency in the challenge process is a big issue in managing CSA we developed the DataQs Success Report to help focus challenge efforts where they have the greatest likelihood of success.”

The Vigillo DataQs Success Report allows a carrier to view the number of violations removed from the MCMIS database in order to determine the likelihood of having a similar violation successfully removed. The number of removed violations can be viewed by Violation Code and Description, and filtered by BASIC category, State, County and Safety Inspector Key. Additionally, the user can view the percentage of violations removed in a BASIC for each state and county.

The product is delivered as an Excel workbook complete with summary data, pivot tables and charts, and is updated each month.
