New products, improvements made to truck wrench line

March 16, 2012

Ken-Tool has added three new products and updated three others within its double-ended truck wrench product line.

The new wrenches, made from forged carbon steel, are designed for use on a variety of equipment, both on-highway and off. All the wrenches are approximately 16 in. in length, the company said, and use the Ken-Tool TR5 and TR5A hexagonal wrench handle.

A 33mm hex with 13/16 in. sq. by 1/2 in. hex socket size (Model TR99) is designed for SAE inner and outer Budd wheel nuts plus hub piloted wheels. A 33mm with 22mm sq. by 41mm hex socket size tool (Model TRM6A) is for metric inner and outer Budd wheel nuts as well as hub piloted wheels. Also available is a 1-in. hex with 5/8 in. by 1 3/16 in. hex socket size for Caterpillar and Bobcat equipment and hub piloted wheels.

All three sockets use the 30-in. truck wrench hex handle, which is 8 in. longer than a standard TR5 wrench hex handle for improved leverage, Ken-Tool said.

The company made improvements to several double-ended wrenches, adding deeper sockets to fit longer wheel studs and lug bolts. The TR3X, TRM3, and TRM7 models all cover up to 1 ¾ in. stud depth.
