Sept. 3, 2013

Two new travel plazas have opened in Illinois, along I-74, and in Ohio, along I-75. A Pilot Travel Center is now serving customers in Oakwood, IL, while a Flying J Travel Plaza is doing the same in Vandalia, OH.

“We’re thrilled that our new locations will serve professional drivers traveling on I-74 in Illinois and I-75 in Ohio,” said Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam. “We hope drivers will enjoy the convenience and amenities at both of our new stores, where our teams are working hard to make life better for America’s drivers. We also hope drivers enjoy the fresh, healthy and quick food options at the newest PJ Fresh Marketplace at the Oakwood Pilot Travel Center.”

The Pilot Travel Center in Oakwood is located off Interstate 74 at exit 206 at 503 N. Oakwood St. The center features seven diesel lanes and 10 gasoline lanes; a PJ Fresh Marketplace serving hot meals, breakfast platters, salads, sandwiches, a frozen yogurt bar, pizza, hot dogs, and more; Cinnabon; and everyday products for quick shopping needs.

The Oakwood facility is Pilot Flying J’s 38th in Illinois. The travel center is adding 80 local jobs and is expected to contribute more than $3.4 million annually in state and local tax revenue, the company said.

The Flying J Travel Plaza in Vandalia is located off Interstate 75 at exit 64 at 175 Northwoods Blvd. It has eight diesel and 12 gasoline lanes; Subway and Cinnabon; expanded food offerings to include pizza, soup, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs; and everyday products for quick shopping needs.

The new Vandalia facility is Pilot Flying J's 34th in Ohio. The travel plaza is adding 60 local jobs and is expected to contribute more than $4.3 million annually in state and local tax revenue, Pilot Flying J said.
