Autocar ACTT models’ antilock braking system may fail
Autocar is recalling certain 2023-2027 ACTT terminal tractors. The Antilock Braking System (ABS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may be improperly secured, allowing the ABS ECU to separate. A separated ABS ECU may become damaged, causing the ABS system to fail and increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 137 vehicles. Autocar will replace the fasteners. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 25. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is ACTT-2601.
Ford F-Series models’ obstructed rearview camera image
Ford is recalling certain 2021-2023 F-150 and 2023-2026 F-250 SD vehicles equipped with 8-inch SYNC infotainment screens. A software error may cause the rearview camera image to be obstructed by the infotainment home screen menu when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." An obstructed rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 47,587 vehicles. The accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed August 17. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, which is anticipated for September. Freightliner models’ insufficient illumination from low-beam headlights
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Freightliner EM2, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2RV, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2C, and Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. A software error may cause the low-beam headlights to illuminate improperly. Insufficient low-beam headlight illumination can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 23,276 vehicles. The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 20. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1036.
Heil models’ water in high-voltage cabinet may cause short circuit
The Heil Company is recalling certain 2025-2026 side loader garbage trucks equipped with certain HH Technologies ReVamp high voltage cabinets, with part number 372-9585. Water may enter an improperly sealed high voltage cabinet and cause component failure or a short circuit. Electrical component failure may lead to an unexpected vehicle shutdown, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an electrical short increases the risk of a fire.
This recall potentially affects seven vehicles. Heil will install a protective enclosure. Owner notification letters were mailed July 28. Owners may contact Heil's customer service at 866-275-4345. Heil's number for this recall is PN-26-354.
Kenworth, Peterbilt models’ oil-contaminated power distribution center
Paccar is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt and Kenworth vehicles. See the recall report for a complete list of models, which includes: The power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated with oil, which could result in a loss of drive power, Antilock Brake System (ABS) functionality, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, or the defogging system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems," 104, "Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems," and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." A loss of lighting, windshield wipers, ABS function, or drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 5,919 vehicles. Dealers will inspect the PDC serial numbers and replace the PDC boxes as necessary. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 25. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.
