Logistics software developer Tilion has unveiled an Internet-based inbound freight management system designed to help logistics managers cut inbound freight costs and streamline the inbound logistics process.

Its new system, called Solutions for Inbound Freight, uses data collected from existing enterprise systems throughout the supply chain to provide greater control over inbound shipments. Tilion claims that its new system can slash premium freight costs by 30% and total inbound freight costs by 15% in just 90 days.

Tilion’s system reconciles documents, purchase orders, ship notices and carrier status in order to generate a real-time picture of inbound shipments for shippers. The system then collects critical information and delivers detailed analysis about inbound shipments in a variety of formats, including Internet-based reports and alerts via e-mail, pagers, and wireless PDAs.
