Food fleets get online buying service
Developed jointly by the National Grocers Assn. (NGA), Food Distributors International (FDI) and AmeriQuest,wwww.foodfleetxchange.com offers retail grocers and wholesalers and their suppliers a new online buying service for fleet equipment and supplies.
The new exchange provides volume pricing on tires, lubricants, batteries, brakes, engines, transmissions, tools, truck bodies, shop tools and other fleet equipment. The online service allows fleets to maintain current relationships with both local and national vendors, according to AmeriQuest, including delivery and installation arrangements already in place. The only change is national pricing negotiated by the group, the company says.
