Kenworth offers Hendrickson suspension option

Kirkland, WA-based Kenworth Truck Co. is planning to offer Hendrickson’s Primaax heavy-duty air suspension on its vocational truck and tractor models.

“Kenworth is offering the Primaax suspension as an option in 46,000-lb. tandem and 69,000-lb. tridem configurations for the Kenworth T800, W900 and C500 models,” said Steve Gilligan, Kenworth’s general marketing manager. “It’s ideal for construction, logging and heavy-haul applications.”

In the 46,000-lb. tandem rating, Primaax is available for use with multiple lift axles and GCWR of 180,000 lbs. Primaax also offers up to eight inches of axle travel for improved suspension articulation, resulting in greater mobility on job sites, he said.

In the 69,000-lb. tridem rating, Primaax is available with a GCWR of 240,000 lbs. making it an ideal choice for heavy haul and logging where the added traction of three drive axles can improve performance off the road.
