Clark tapped for executive vp at Con-way Freight

Con-way Freight is promoting Thomas Clark to executive vp-operations, replacing W. Gregory Lehmkuhl, who became president of the LTL carrier last week.

Clark, a 26-year veteran of the Con-way Freight organization, will be responsible for overall strategic planning and execution of the fleet’s and service center network’s operations, which encompasses 300 service centers and 35,000 trucks, tractors and trailers.

He will also be responsible for employee engagement, service quality and consistency, ongoing network analysis and process design, continuous improvement, production efficiency and customer satisfaction initiatives.

Clark most recently served as vp-operations/eastern area for Con-way Freight, a position he assumed in June 2005. He also worked a region manager for Con-way’s New England and Florida regions, as well as service center manager in Atlanta and Norcross, GA.
