CoolBrands unit sells DSD distribution assets

Eskimo Pie Frozen Distribution Inc has entered into definitive agreements to sell its "direct store door" (DSD) frozen distribution assets in Florida, California, Oregon, and Washington.

Eskimo Pie Frozen Distribution Inc, a CoolBrands International Inc subsidiary, has entered into definitive agreements to sell its "direct store door" (DSD) frozen distribution assets in Florida, California, Oregon, and Washington to Southwest Traders Inc. Net value of the transaction is approximately US $5 million, and net proceeds from the sale will be used to repay part of CoolBrands' borrowings.

CoolBrands markets ice creams and frozen snacks under brands including Eskimo Pie, Godiva, Disney, Whole Fruit, Snapple, Tropicana, Crayola, and Yoplait. The company also markets fresh yogurt products, and its Foodservice Division manufactures and sells soft-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt.
