C R England, a Salt Lake City UT-based global transportation provider, has been recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a SmartWay Excellence Award winner. The carrier was recognized as an industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency.

“We are especially pleased to receive this distinction,” said Corey England, executive vice-president of C R England. “Sustainable transportation solutions are something we work very diligently to provide. In the past year, we have seen a 4% improvement in our fleet fuel efficiency. These results have come through judiciously sourcing the most fuel-efficient equipment and the earnest efforts of our professional drivers. We know that our efforts are making a substantial impact on the environment, and we are getting a significant financial benefit as well.”

C R England was one of 40 companies, representing less than 1% of the partnership’s nearly 3000 partners, to receive this distinction. Awards for truck and multimodal carrier partners were announced at the American Trucking Association’s Annual Management Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas NV recently. Shipper and logistic company partners were recognized at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals annual conference held in Atlanta GA.
