PrePass Safety Alliance and HAAS Alert launch real-time roadway hazard warnings for truck drivers
Key takeaways
- PrePass and HAAS Alert integrated real-time warnings for work zones, crashes, and emergency vehicles into the PrePass Mobile App.
- Drivers now receive cloud-based alerts before reaching hazards, improving reaction time beyond traditional roadside warnings.
- The system expands nationwide coverage across the lower 48 states and strengthens safety and law compliance.
PrePass Safety Alliance and HAAS Alert recently collaborated to integrate HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud Alert solution into PrePass Safety Alerts, expanding real-time warning capabilities for professional drivers. PrePass Safety Alliance is a nonprofit public-private partnership advancing commercial vehicle safety and efficiency.
The integration delivers live digital warnings for emergency vehicles, incident responders, and active work zones directly through the PrePass Mobile App. Drivers receive audible and visual alerts covering weather conditions, traffic slowdowns, road restrictions, parking availability, and now roadside hazards.
The system provides advance warning of roadway events before drivers reach them, using cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-vehicle delivery channels. Safety Cloud automatically captures hazard events when emergency or work zone equipment is activated, requiring no action from field crews.
The collaboration expands coverage across the lower 48 states and is designed to improve driver awareness and reduce crash risk by strengthening visibility around roadside incidents.
“We’re proud to partner with PrePass Safety Alliance to bring Safety Cloud alerts to the professional drivers who share the road with first responders and roadway workers every day,” Cory Hohs, CEO of HAAS Alert, stated. “Commercial truck drivers are among the most important stakeholders in roadside safety, and integrating with PrePass Safety Alerts gives us an important channel to deliver nationwide real-time warnings that can save lives. This partnership reflects our shared belief that technology should be put to work protecting the people who keep America moving.”
