Software provider Versata Inc. today announced that LTL carrier Consolidated Freightways (CF) has deployed the Versata Logic Server on IBM WebSphere to improve its claims processing efficiency and lower processing costs by a projected $2 million.

“By replacing a legacy application with a paperless claims system, we're increasing customer satisfaction levels and realizing significant cost savings while increasing operational efficiencies,” said Marty Larson, vice president of e-business for CF. “By leveraging leading-edge technology as part of our e-business initiative, we can serve our customers faster and more effectively.”

The system integrates data, business practices and information about the claims process across applications, and makes it accessible to a wide range of company users. The paperless claims system is being deployed this month, and CF plans to continue utilizing Versata products to implement future phases of its claims-automation project.
