Director of truck electronics Jeff Bannister told Fleet Owner that Diamond Logic Application Solution will enable medium-duty fleets electrical settings much the way they program engines.
"This will not only help fleets customize specific operating features on their trucks, it will allow the body installers to hook up necessary harness connections without drilling holes in the truck cab and splicing wires," he said.
Because wire splicing can expose the electrical system to corrosion and other forms of damage, that is International's biggest medium-duty warranty issue.
International plans to pilot test this new Diamond Logic software system over the next three to four months and hopes to make it commercially available next spring.
