    Friendly Ice Cream Corp, which produces and distributes ice cream for more than 3,500 supermarkets and retail locations, has reported record net income of $5.3 million for the quarter ended Sept 28, 2003. This is an increase of 52% when compared with the net income of $3.5 million reported for the same period in 2002.

    Net income for the nine months ended Sept 28, 2003, was $6.9 million, identical to net income for the same period a year ago.

    Total company revenues rose $5.0 million, or 1.1%, to $444.7 million for the nine months ended Sept 28, 2003, from $439.7 million for the comparable period in 2002.
