Vertical Cold Storage recently announced that its Medley, Florida, facility, near Miami, is now fully licensed as a customs-bonded warehouse. The company, which provides refrigerated storage for frozen seafood, beef, pork, and poultry, enables importers to defer duties and tariffs while products remain in temperature-controlled storage.
Customs-bonded warehousing allows businesses to maintain frozen inventory duty-free until products are sold into the U.S. market or re-exported, helping optimize cash flow and improve refrigerated supply chain management. Additional bonded locations for Vertical Cold Storage are in development.
The Medley facility’s location near PortMiami (Port of Entry Port Code 5201) and Miami International Airport gives refrigerated importers direct access to key U.S. gateways while keeping frozen products secure under bonded status.
“Our new customs-bonded warehouse service in Medley is a game changer for importers facing increased cost of goods sold and holding costs due to changes in tariffs,” Jim Henderson, CCO of Vertical Cold Storage, said. “It allows customers to move frozen seafood, meat, and other protein products seamlessly through Miami and into global markets while giving them the financial flexibility to manage duties only when and where they need to.”
