Sunswap announces multi-temperature electric refrigeration to improve complex deliveries
Key takeaways
- Sunswap’s multi-temperature electric refrigeration allows independent temperature zones within a single trailer for mixed deliveries.
- Remote evaporators paired with the Endurance unit maximize cargo space while maintaining chilled and frozen goods efficiently.
- Multi-temperature capabilities help fleets reduce trips, cut operational costs, and meet zero-emission targets for sustainable logistics.
Sunswap recently announced its multi-temperature electric refrigeration solution, now in operation with Tesco, Cranswick, and Noble Foods. The company, which develops electric transport refrigeration units, delivers independent temperature control across trailer compartments using remote evaporators paired with the Endurance unit. This system supports configurations such as lanes, bulkhead setups, or double-decker arrangements, allowing operators to maintain different temperature zones in a single trailer.
The technology is available in 700 mm wide and full compartment width units with single or dual air flow, maximizing cargo space while providing independent temperature control for each compartment. Multi-temperature deliveries help operators consolidate chilled and frozen deliveries, reduce fleet movements, and lower operational costs. The solution builds on Sunswap’s deployments with major fleet operators, including Tesco, Ocado, and Birds Eye.
“This represents a significant step forward in zero-emission multi-temperature operations,” Michael Lowe, CEO of Sunswap, said. “Fleet operators can now effortlessly run multi-temperature deliveries with zero emissions, consolidating their chilled and frozen deliveries without compromising on performance or sustainability targets.”
