PenserSC, ICS Logistics form strategic alliance
PenserSC, a third-party logistics provider serving the Southeast region, has entered into a strategic alliance with ICS Logistics. With this alliance, PenserSC continues a pattern of growth that began four years ago, aimed at expanding services throughout the Southeast.
The company will acquire certain transportation assets from ICS Logistics. This alliance will enable PenserSC to operate transportation services for ICS Logistics, including design, pricing, and execution. The partnership also expands frozen LTL and truckload capacity throughout the region.
“PenserSC has experienced 25% year-over-year growth since 2007. This has increased our need for multi-temperature truckload and LTL assets,” said Shawn Barnett, chief executive officer. “This alliance gives our company an expanded transportation infrastructure, which complements our existing network.”
For ICS Logistics, this alliance allows focus on core-related port services and frozen warehousing. The relationship with PenserSC will give ICS Logistics a broader and more complex transportation service offering while providing PenserSC an opportunity to capitalize on the ICS network.
“The key to all successful alliances is synergy and similar cultures between the companies,” said Barnett. “ICS Logistics has a great reputation, track record and values, which are the traits that attracted us to the relationship.”
The transition of assets has been completed, and the alliance began operations June 6, 2011.
PenserSC offers contract and flexible logistics, providing warehousing, fulfillment, and cross-docking. Transportation services include multi-temperature, truckload, LTL, pool distribution, and drayage services.
ICS Logistics, headquartered in Jacksonville FL, is an asset-based logistics company, owning firms that operate in dry and temperature-controlled warehousing, stevedoring, terminal services, and other supply chain systems.
