Rinchem acquires refrigerated carrier Carolina Tank Lines

Oct. 23, 2019
Rinchem recently acquired Carolina Tank Lines, a trucking business based in Burlington NC.

Rinchem Company, an Albuquerque NM-based chemical management services corporation, recently acquired Carolina Tank Lines (CTL), a trucking business based in Burlington NC.

CTL offers transportation services focused on medical instruments and supplies, as well as diagnostics and food industries. Their service model complements Rinchem’s mission of being the most responsive provider of logistics and chemical management services, the company said. The acquisition also will be a valuable addition to the current fleet of transportation assets within the growing Rinchem logistics network.

“Our acquisition strategy is focused on adding partners based on specific capabilities that add to the growing suites of services offered by our business,” said Chuck Breinholt, Rinchem CEO. “CTL’s customer base will broaden Rinchem’s future abilities and help us expand our expertise in the pharmaceutical transportation and management areas.”

The merger was facilitated by Chapman Associates and Rodey Law.

Rinchem is a logistics provider with temperature-controlled warehouses customized to store regulated and non-regulated chemicals and gasses, and a fleet of drivers with temperature-controlled trucks customized to transport these products.

“I was happy when the Rinchem team approached me about this acquisition,” said Tony Capps, former owner of CTL. “They are a like-minded, family-owned business and this change will allow me to step back from the business. I have worked with my friends and family for several decades and know that this move is ideal for everyone involved.”
